Message your team one-to-one or in groups, share files, and preview documents without leaving the chat. Available for Mac, Windows, Linux and Android, with iPhone coming soon.
Message a teammate one-to-one or a whole team in a group. Edit or delete what you send, and see who’s talking at a glance with profile and group photos.
Files & Library
Drag files into a chat to send them. Every image and document lands in your Library, where you can search, preview PDFs and slides, download, or share to another chat.
Scrum Board
Plan sprints on a board or a list: drag tasks between columns, add them with a keystroke, and set assignee, priority, due date and points. Companies with Projects can sync a board with a project both ways.
Notifications that reach you
Choose your message sound, get desktop pop-ups, and phone notifications even when the app is closed. Unread counts follow you on every screen.
Desktop bubble
On Mac, Windows and Linux, a chat bubble floats over your work. Click it to open the panel, drag it anywhere, and it starts when you log in.
Yours and private
Pick a theme, including dark ones like Monokai, and your photo; they follow you to every device. Files download through your sign-in, never public links.
Download Defyne Chat
Pick your platform. Sign in with your Defyne account and your chats are there.
macOS
macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later · Apple silicon and Intel
Which Mac? Apple menu → About This Mac: “Chip: Apple M…” means Apple silicon; “Processor: Intel” means Intel (use Universal). Not sure? Universal works on both.
Open the downloaded file (Defyne-Chat-macOS-arm64.dmg or Defyne-Chat-macOS.dmg) from your Downloads folder.
Drag Defyne Chat into the Applications folder in the window that opens.
Open Defyne Chat from Applications and sign in.
If macOS says Defyne Chat “is damaged” or can’t be checked, open Terminal, paste this, press Return, then open the app again. You only need to do this once per install.
Fedora or RHEL: download Defyne-Chat-Linux.rpm (Intel/AMD) or Defyne-Chat-Linux-arm64.rpm (ARM), then run the matching command (openSUSE: zypper install instead of dnf install):
Open Defyne Chat from your app menu, or start it from a terminal:
defyne-chat
If apt says the dependencies are “not installable” for :amd64, your machine is ARM: use the ARM64 download instead. On Wayland desktops the chat bubble returns to its default corner after a restart.
